Safety Guidelines
Your wellbeing is our highest priority at Santosh Retreats. Here's everything you need to know to ensure a safe and transformative experience during your retreat with us.
Health & Medical Safety
We prioritize your physical health and medical wellbeing throughout your retreat experience. Please review these essential health guidelines.
Pre-Retreat Health Assessment
Complete the health questionnaire thoroughly and honestly. Inform us of any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect your participation in retreat activities.
Medication Management
Bring all necessary medications in original containers with clear labels. Store medications securely and take them as prescribed. Always inform retreat staff of any critical medications.
Physical Activity Guidelines
Participate within your physical limits. Inform instructors of any injuries or limitations before activities begin. Stop any activity immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort.
Hydration & Nutrition
Stay well-hydrated throughout the retreat. Inform us of dietary restrictions, allergies, or special nutritional needs in advance. Eat regular meals and avoid excessive fasting without proper guidance.
Mental & Emotional Wellbeing
Retreat practices may bring up intense emotions or memories. We're committed to providing a safe space for your emotional journey.
Psychological Readiness
Ensure you're in a stable mental state before attending. Please inform us of any mental health conditions or recent traumatic experiences that might affect your participation.
Consent & Boundaries
You have the right to decline any practice or activity. Communicate your boundaries clearly to facilitators and fellow participants. Always respect others' boundaries.
Integration Support
Take time to process experiences mindfully. Use the support systems available during and after the retreat. Consider professional counseling if needed for proper integration.
Confidentiality
Maintain confidentiality regarding other participants' personal shares. What is shared in group settings stays within the group unless there's a safety concern.
Environmental & Physical Safety
Understanding your environment and following physical safety protocols helps ensure a secure retreat experience for everyone.
Facility Awareness
Familiarize yourself with the retreat location, including exits, bathrooms, and common areas. Be aware of potential hazards like uneven surfaces, stairs, or water features.
Weather Preparedness
Check weather conditions and pack appropriate clothing for all activities. Follow staff guidance regarding outdoor activities during adverse weather conditions.
Personal Belongings
Secure valuables in provided lockers or designated areas. Label personal items clearly. Keep essential items like medications and emergency contacts easily accessible.
Movement & Transportation
Use designated pathways and common areas at all times. Follow guidelines for any group transportation. Never wander alone in unfamiliar outdoor areas, especially at night.
Community & Behavioral Guidelines
Creating a respectful and supportive community environment is essential for everyone's retreat experience.
Respectful Communication
Communicate with kindness and respect at all times. Avoid judgment, criticism, or unsolicited advice. Practice active listening and mindful speech in all interactions.
Substance Policy
Alcohol and recreational drugs are strictly prohibited during retreats. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Inform staff of prescription medications that may affect participation.
Appropriate Conduct
Maintain appropriate physical and emotional boundaries. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the retreat.
Digital Wellness
Follow guidelines regarding phone and device usage during retreat activities. Respect designated quiet hours and technology-free zones. Use devices mindfully when permitted.
Activity-Specific Safety
Each retreat activity has specific safety considerations to ensure your wellbeing during participation.
Yoga & Movement Practices
Listen to your body and modify poses as needed. Inform instructors of any injuries or limitations before classes begin. Use props when recommended and never force any position.
Meditation & Breathwork
Stop any practice if you feel uncomfortable or distressed. Maintain natural breathing if guided techniques feel challenging. Inform facilitators of any breathing-related medical conditions.
